OVERVIEW
-
As moderator, your job is to support in creating an organic, thought provoking conversation between yourself and session participants. A successful moderator is able to stay on time while also ensuring that each participant gets equal time to provide their views on a particular topic of discussion.
PREP CALL
-
We have sent a Session Introduction to all speakers and the moderator for each session. As moderator, please connect with the participant(s) of the session you are moderating to schedule a Session Prep Call ahead of the event. During this call, please work with participants to come up with a general outline/flow and a list of questions to help prepare for the session. It may also be helpful to identify a specific participant to answer first for each question based on their expertise.
TIMING AND FLOW
-
Please check the exact duration of your session in the Session Introduction email you received from the SPC Events Team.
-
Please note that for Main Stage Sessions only (this does not apply for Break Out Sessions), there will be a time clock visible to you on stage.
-
For the sake of flow, please do not interrupt speakers on stage when they are speaking but instead mention in your next comment how much time there is left if it’s time to wrap up the session.
-
In order to make the conversation come across as natural as possible to the audience, we ask that you please seek out and introduce yourself to participant(s) on-site ahead of the session if possible.
AUDIENCE QUESTIONS
-
We now use Cvent as the polling platform for audience engagement and questions. Please review our guidance document below in detail prior to the event.
ANTITRUST STATEMENT
Please print out or write down GreenBlue’s Antitrust Statement prior to the event. We ask that you please read this at the beginning of each session you are moderating.
CANCELLATIONS
While we do not foresee this happening, if for whatever reason a participant can’t attend anymore and is sending a replacement (or canceling), please let us know immediately.
