Providence Mavubi is Director of the Division of Agribusiness and Infrastructure Development (IETAGR) at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), where she leads global initiatives on agribusiness modernization, food systems transformation and agro‑industrial infrastructure to support Member States in advancing inclusive and sustainable industrial development.

She brings over 20 years of international experience in agribusiness development, industrial policy, trade facilitation, investment promotion and regional economic integration across East and Southern Africa, having previously served as Director of Industry and Agriculture at the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), where she led regional strategies to strengthen agro‑industrial value chains, enhance food systems and expand market access for 21 Member States.

Throughout her career, she has managed multi‑million‑dollar programmes with partners such as the African Development Bank, World Bank and European Union, and has built strong public‑private partnerships to unlock private investment in agro‑industrialization, food security and rural development.

She holds a Master’s degree in Agribusiness Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Economics), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management, and is widely recognized for her strategic leadership, policy innovation and multi‑stakeholder engagement in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
