Mr Säilä is a graduate of University of Helsinki and holds a MSc in forest sciences. After graduation Mr Säilä worked for UPM Plc 1989-2003 in the sales and marketing and 2003-2008 as V-P R&D. 2008-2014 Mr Säilä worked as SVP Products and Innovation Environment at Finnish Forest Industries Federation. Since 2014 Mr Säilä has been Managing Director of Finnish Packaging Association. Mr Säilä has several positions of trust. At this moment he is Chairman of Rinki – the Finnish Packaging Recycling company, Chairman of Finnish National Committee for Packaging Standardization, member of the Board of Directors of the Scandinavian Packaging Association and president of EPIC – European Packaging Institutes’ Consortium. Mr Säilä has represented Finnish Packaging Association in World Packaging Organization since 2014. Mr Säilä held 2016-2018 the position of V-P, Sustainability and was a member of the Executive Team of WPO.
