Dietmar Lenko was Head of Group Technical Innovation since 2017. Moreover, he became Head of Consumer Innovation & Product Sustainability, VP in 2024.
Innovations were raised to a new level at Constantia Flexibles by Dietmar Lenko. Since 2017, he has been steering the group innovation portfolio and leading innovation projects with external partners and customers. For this purpose, he has implemented a group-wide innovation project stage gate software. He was vital in developing the innovation strategy, including the Constantia Flexible innovation themes. Design thinking and the creation of a new ideation setup was done to fill the innovation pipeline. In addition to his role as Head of Technical Innovations, Dietmar Lenko was responsible for sustainable product developments in the Home Care area. His greatest successes in recent years have been the introduction of the mono PE laminate EcoLamPlus for standup pouches with zipper and for flowpacks for wet wipes.
Creative ideas that serve the environment and customers drive Dietmar Lenko. Therefore, he gathered extensive know-how as a student and in the industry. Before he joined Constantia Flexibles, he worked as a Program Manager Engineering TDI in Shanghai, where he implemented and qualified new processes to manufacture printed circuit boards used in high-end electronics. Whether it is the sustainability of packaging and its recycling or the development process and design of experiments, he is an expert in the fields of materials, especially polymers, chemistry, and the modification of surfaces.
Dietmar Lenko is 40 years old and was born and raised in Styria, Austria. He received a Master`s degree in Polymer Engineering and Science at the University of Leoben, followed by a Ph.D. at the University of Leoben in Polymer chemistry. In addition to his role at Constantia Flexibles, he is currently a guest lecturer at the FH Joanneum in Graz, Austria. In his leisure time, Dietmar Lenko enjoys traveling the world and doing sports in- and outdoors, like CrossFit, road biking, hiking, and snowboarding.
