Submission Guidelines

SPC Impact sessions should advance sustainable packaging through the sharing of ideas, data, research, and case studies.

Strong submissions should:

  • Address a challenge, opportunity, or emerging issue facing the packaging industry.
  • Share data, research, case studies, or actionable insights.
  • Clearly articulate what attendees will learn and take back to their organizations.
  • Offer perspectives relevant to multiple stakeholders across the packaging value chain.

Sessions should not:

  • Function as a sales presentation, customer testimonial, or brand showcase promoting products, services, or technologies.
  • Focus solely on organizational achievements without providing broader industry relevance or lessons learned.
  • Lack supporting data, evidence, or substantive insights.
  • Present a one-sided perspective on a complex industry issue.

Panel Expectations

  • Panels should bring together diverse perspectives from across the packaging value chain to examine an industry challenge, opportunity, or emerging trend.
  • Panels should not only feature speakers from the same company or side of the value chain with similar perspectives.

Preference will be given to panels that:

  • Include representatives from multiple organizations.
  • Reflect different roles across the value chain (e.g., brands, suppliers, recovery stakeholders, NGOs, policymakers, researchers).
  • Foster discussion and debate rather than a series of individual presentations.

Presentation Expectations

Presentations should provide a focused exploration of a topic, supported by new data, research, implementation experiences, or case study findings. Attendees should leave with clear and actionable takeaways.
