Alexander Werne is a Sustainability Manager based in Sweden, with a strong focus on the commercial dimensions of a circular economy and resource efficiency. He works with GPI’s Boardio at the intersection of sustainability and business, driving sustainability initiatives that align environmental performance with economic value. Alexander is actively involved in several industry collaborations, including SPC, the Poly Coated Paper Alliance and 4evergreen, where he contributes to advancing fibre-based packaging circularity and leveraging the synergies between different markets. He is also engaged as a CEN member, supporting the implementation of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) for paper and cardboard. With a pragmatic and collaborative approach, he is committed to accelerating the transition toward a more circular and resource-efficient packaging system.
